For The Love of Learning, Not Grades

Are grades and report cards a stressor in your home? Have you ever heard your kids call themselves dumb based on the grades they receive? Have they lost an intrinsic desire to learn?

Grades are intended to guide students on their path of learning however, in actual fact, this is not always the case. For some students and their parents, grades and report cards can be detrimental to a student's self-image as a learner.

But what other options are there for teachers, students, and parents? According to my guest, it requires a paradigm shift involving how we educate our children and how we use assessment and evaluation.
